I’m Excited To Bring Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine to the District!
Hi, I’m Zach! I’m new to the District and love sampling new restaurants and exploring the city. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, playing with my dog, and practicing traditional Chinese Kungfu. Working as an acupuncturist is truly inspiring, and I’m excited to come to work each day. I consider myself to be an integrative practitioner, and while I focus on Chinese medicine, I also incorporate Western medical concepts to best serve my patients.
I Want Everyone Who Comes to Me To Feel Safe and Welcome
My experiences with conventional medicine have often left me feeling cold and with the sense that I wasn’t truly being heard. My goal is to do the opposite. I hope to provide a warm, caring, and friendly environment for patients to explore any and all health goals.
Fascination by Observation or How I Found Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine
I had my first experience of acupuncture in my senior year of undergrad. At that time, I knew I wanted to be in the medical field, but I just wasn’t sure how. My degree included writing a senior thesis, and since I already had an interest in Chinese culture and martial arts, I thought, why not write it on acupuncture? Let’s see what this stuff is really all about.
I observed a local practitioner for several months and was fascinated by the “magic” of acupuncture and the variety of conditions that could be improved by Chinese Medicine. After college, I took a gap year to teach English in Spain, then applied to acupuncture school and haven’t looked back!
My Educational Journey
I received my undergraduate degrees from the University of Central Arkansas. From there, I studied acupuncture at the Academy of Oriental Medicine at Austin and received a Masters in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.
